How do you mark an absence excused?

This post is applicable in the Cloud database's Windows App as well as in the Legacy database.

Question: Is there a way to indicate that a clubber's absence shouldn't be counted against them towards the attendance award?

Answer: An absence can be 'excused' so it doesn't count against a clubber.

From the Check-in List grid, select the clubber(s) to excuse. Right click to access the popup menu and select Excuse > {select one of the choices}. There are options to excuse the Club absence, the Church/SS absence or both for the selected member(s) for the selected week. There is also a corresponding "Clear Excused" menu item.

To see the effect of these actions, the Excused Club and/or Excused SS columns must be visible in the grid. If the Club Attendance or SS/Church attendance is excused, a checkmark will appear in THESE checkboxes only. Weeks that have been excused will not count as an absence when the Attendance Awards are calculated.

Tip: An alternative to excusing club attendance for EVERYONE (because of a snow day or something that caused a cancelation), is to delete the club date (under Admin > Club Setup > Club Calendars, use the Add or Delete Dates button).
