Trying to backup data
« on: January 21, 2013, 12:56:37 PM »
Note: This post only applies to the Legacy database!

I am trying to backup my data and I keep getting an error.  I had to change the directory to where it would be saved due to getting a new computer and now it fails every time I try to backup.  Here is the error I get from the log:

Verifying the integrity of all tables in F:\Approved Workman\Data
Verification completed successfully.

Backing up data files...

Backup of database F:\Approved Workman\Data started at 1/21/2013 1:53:26 PM
Error during backup of database F:\Approved Workman\Data - DBISAM Engine Error # 11013 Access denied to table or backup file 'C:\Users\lowman\Documents\AWANA Backup 2012\AW Backup v5104 1-21-2013.bkp'
Processing Ended: 1/21/2013 1:53:26 PM  Elapsed time: 0.1 minutes

I do not know what I can do to get it to recognize the path to save the backup to.  Please let me know.

Thanks,
Amy

When you open the Backup and Restore dialog, the Backup Path defaults to whatever was last used.  Since you got a new computer, it's likely that the specific path doesn't exist on the new computer.

Do this:
1. On the Backup dialog in the first field where you are to specifiy the Backup Path, click the button at the end of the edit box and then in the resulting dialog navigate to and select the specific existing folder where you want the backup file to be created.

2. Accept the default value for the File Name and just click the Start button.
