Title: Inventory Actual Count
Post by: DavidGeddings on July 31, 2015, 06:39:34 PM
Note: This post is applicable in the Legacy database as well as in the Cloud database's Windows App.

Greetings All,
This is David, Commander at Northwood Baptist is Charleston, SC, and new to the product.  I have a question on inventory, specifically related to the Sparks jewels.  They are ordered in package of 50 count.  So on the inventory it would be "1" not "50".  Now I see the manual "Actual Count" on the grid which can be printed, but is there an actual place on the record to track actual count of the jewels (for this example)?

Thanks
David

Hi David.  Welcome to AWdb and the Forum.

On the inventory dialog, "Qty in Stock" tracks the actual number (of jewels - 50) not just the package (1).  Each time a jewel is earned, it will decrease this number by 1 (if your automatic inventory reduction is turned on).

If you set the reorder information at the bottom of the inventory dialog, the "Qty in Stock" is based on actual number (of jewels) and the "Order a Qty of" is based on the package.  For example, when Qty in Stock is: "10" (jewels); Order a Qty of: 1 (pkg).  You will see on the order form that it shows both the Pkg Qty (50) and the Qty Ordered (1).  When you mark the order as 'Received' and check the box for that item, it will add the total number (of jewels) to the inventory (in this case, 50. If you ordered 2 pkgs, it would add 100 jewels to your inventory).

The "Actual Count" column for printing is for periodic comparison between your database records and your physical items.  When you print the grid it may show '23' as Qty in Stock.  If you actually have 25, you would write that in so the database could be updated.
