Licensing


A Single-user license permits you to install and use a copy of the Approved Workman database software (the SOFTWARE) on any single computer. The SOFTWARE may also be installed on and run directly from a single USB flash drive. A single-user license is intended for a single database installation that will be used to track data for your entire club. With a single-user license you can (and should) create separate user accounts for each person who needs access to the database, but only one person at a time will be able to log in.

 

A Multi-user license permits you to install the SOFTWARE on either:

     a) Non-networked computers... the number of computers that you may install to is determined by the user count of your purchased license, or 

     b) A network file server (or a shared folder accessible on a networked PC), to allow access by two or more users concurrently. The number of users that may be logged in simultaneously is determined by the user count of your purchased license.

 

If you want to duplicate the SOFTWARE so that sub-clubs, Cubbies, Sparks, and T&T for example, can enter/edit their own data on separate PCs, then you essentially have three persons using the software concurrently (even if they are not networked) and you would therefore need a three-user license.

 

All licenses permit the SOFTWARE to be duplicated for backup purposes and for the club secretary to use on his/her home PC and for the purpose of making it convenient for the club secretary to have the entire single club database accessible from more than one location, such as the need to move back/forth from home/church.

 

 

Note: A multi-user license is required to utilize the one-time data-merge feature which enables you to combine the data entered in separate databases into a single master database. (After merging two separate databases you'll be able to use the Club Checkout/Check-in feature for non-networked multi-user capabilities.)

Maintenance and Support

The initial purchase price includes full support and immediate access to all updates and enhancements until July 1. Thereafter, an annual support plan is offered at a cost of $60.

Note: If you purchase the software within 90 days prior to July 1, your support term will be extended through July 1 of the following year. Approximately 30 days prior to July 1 we will send an invoice offering you the option of renewing the support plan. Renewing the support plan entitles you to:

  • email, telephone and remote support

  • program updates and enhancements

  • updates to the handbook curriculum

  • an annual catalog (Inventory) update

  • the ability to re-download the software and your registered license key anytime you need it (i.e. computer crash, theft, or fire.)

    Note: This will be an empty database that you will restore your data into. Be sure to do regular backups of your Approved Workman folder!
