Installation

Note to existing AWdb users... do NOT download and install this trial version. It contains sample data and will overwrite your existing live data. To get program updates, use the built-in feature to check for and download updates. Log into your existing version of AWdb and click Help > Check for updates.

Click here to watch a video on how to download and install the Approved Workman Database, or follow the instructions below:

1. Click the download button shown in the panel to the right and when you see the File Download dialog, click Save.

2. When you see the Save As dialog, select Desktop and click Save. You should see the file download process taking place.

3. Once the setupAW4121.exe file has finished downloading, find it on your desktop and double-click it to launch the setup installation wizard.  Note: It is wise to close all application windows before running any software installation.

4. If you see a File Security Warning dialog click Run.

5. Once the installation setup dialog appears, you will simply read and click through each of the installation wizard screens until you click FINISH, then you'll see a new desktop icon for Approved Workman and your installation will be complete.

Brief installation instructions for the computer savvy:

(If you prefer more detailed instructions, use the information shown at left, or watch this video that walks you through the download and installation process.)

  1. Download and run the setupAW4121.exe file and run it to launch the software installation wizard.
  2. After the installation wizard finishes, launch the database from the new icon on your desktop and when you see the login screen use "demo" for the name and "demo" for the password. 
  3. Use the sample data to explore the various screens and preview the many different reports. Once you're ready to go live, clear out all the sample data by using the Data Purge utility located under Admin > Database Utilities.  Be sure to click the Print Instructions button shown on the Data Purge dialog as these instructions will help you get started.
