New Year Set Up
« on: May 04, 2015, 08:11:51 AM »
I normally wait until August to run the new year set up to get ready for the new year.  In the past, I have waited until  the update comes out in August.  Is it a  problem to run it right after this year is over and all info posted?  Will I mess anything up if I don't wait until the august update?

If your club has finished for this year, you may run the New Year Set Up whenever you would like.  Here is a related post: http://approvedworkman.com/forum/index.php?topic=501.0.

Also see this post about how to add the new club year: http://approvedworkman.com/forum/index.php?topic=1147.0.

Thanks!  I'm going to try to be ahead of the game this year - we'll see how that goes!  This information is very helpful!

Re: New Year Set Up --- Help needed!!!!!

Can anyone give me some tips to trouble-shoot what I may have missed?  I have followed all these steps (I think) to add the club year 2015-2016.  Everything seems to show up correctly when I am in the Generic Lookups.  However, when I use the drop-down for Current Club Year, 2014-2015 is the last year listed.

I decided maybe 2015-2016 would show-up after I run the New Year SetUp ............. I went to the Admin tab to do that but I do NOT have the New Year SetUp tab!!!!!  How is that possible?!!!  What have I done wrong?

OK - panic averted!!! I found the New Year SetUp!!!! Still haven't solved the 2015-2016 ..... hopefully that will resolve as I progress thru this!  I hate trying to remember this "once a year stuff".  I feel so stupid! ::)

Under Admin > Generic Lookups:

You MUST be sure that the Logical Order value for the new 2015-2016 Club Year value that you enter is ONE NUMBER GREATER THAN the Logical Order value of the 2014-2015 club year* so that they sort in the correct logical order.

* Assuming your immediate prior club year was actually "2014-2015" and not "VBS 2015"
