2 separate db on one computer?
« on: September 03, 2014, 07:28:25 AM »
Note: This post only applies to the Legacy database!

I am helping a couple who moved to another church get their Awana program going. Can I have my own church's db and another church's db on my computer? Am I able to just open each file and not cause a problem? Thanks for the help!

Yes you can have two databases on the same computer. Just be sure to keep them in completely separate folders.

Wow, that was fast, Rick! You really are a hero! lol
When you say 2 different folders, you mean 2 separate 'Data' folders? Like name theirs 'Datachurchname', for example, leaving ours 'Data'?
Just want to make sure I don't mess us up!
Thanks!

I would recommend COMPLETELY separate folders, don't just create separate Data folders.  Leave yours the way it is, but if your are helping a church named "Grace Bible Church", then create a new folder named "Grace Bible Church", then inside THAT folder, you can install Approved Workman (or copy and paste an existing installation) so that you end up with a folder structure like:

Grace Bible Church
 --   Approved Workman
    ---   Data
