How can I pro-rate the dues?
« on: June 12, 2013, 02:53:55 PM »
This post is applicable in the Cloud database's Windows App as well as in the Legacy database.

Question: We prorate our dues for families with multiple clubbers. No matter what you do, once you set the dues it puts that for everyone and then you have to key discounts to get it to the amount you need. Would it be possible to allow us to key in our dues amounts and then select which amount is to be charged the clubber?

Answer: We recommend applying the discounts to be able to track the cost to your club in discounted fees. However, it does make things a little more complicated for data entry.

Here is a post about fees and dues with some options (look for the section entitled "How to set up a sliding-scale price for multiple children in same family": https://www.approvedworkman.com/forum/index.php?topic=670.0.

If tracking detailed information on discounts is not important, the amount of the dues fee for individual clubbers may be edited by opening the desired fee and changing the amount. This can be done from the main Ledger grid instead of opening each household record. For this scenario, specifically working with the fees for dues and discounts for families, filter the "Dues" column to show only "true", then group by "Household". Expand all of the records. [See the screen shot below.] This provides information on how many registered clubbers are in each household to know what type of discount to apply. Open a fee, edit the amount, and save and close. Scroll down through the list of households to quickly identify and update records in each qualifying household.
