Title: Current Handbook Status
Post by: sjmusser on February 22, 2016, 01:28:47 PM
Note: This post is applicable in the Cloud database's Windows App as well as in the Legacy database.

I just ran the current handbook status report for the kids in our club.  However, most of the reports were messed up.  It showed on schedule for kids who have only completed 10 sections all year.  It shows projected completion date in 2015.  Some say the kids only have to do 1.4 sections to complete the book when they have over 40 sections yet.  I have never had this problem before.  Is there a way to fix it?

First, in general, there are a couple things to keep in mind with this report:

1) The "Avg/wk" is based on the average number of sections per week starting from the date of the first completed section (so a clubber who starts mid-year and completes 2 sections each for 2 weeks isn't calculated as having completed only 4 sections in 15 weeks).

2) "Needs" is the average number of sections per week needed to finish in the current club year.

3) The "estimated completion" column label may be a little misleading.  This report does include any books that were completed in the current club year, so in the case of a completed handbook, it will show the actual completion date.

Given all that, if your numbers and dates are still off, the first thing to try is running the utility to Recalculate Total Points. This is found under the "Tools" menu.  You should then run the Optimize procedure (under Admin > Database Utilities).  Then run the report again.

If it is still not right, there is probably something else going on that is causing the report to use incorrect data.  In that case, please send an e-mail to support(at)approvedworkman(dot)com.  We will investigate it through a remote support session.
