seems I lave completely lost everything.. even the database... I DO have a recent backup but I don't know what to do since I have NO database... the jump drive it was on messed up so bad that it said it had to be formatted.. so everything including the database is GONE.. Ughh.. HELP!!!

As long as there is a backup, that is all you need to restore the database. Do NOT download the trial version. See this post for instructions: https://www.approvedworkman.com/forum/index.php?topic=1193.0. In this case, follow the steps for 'if you can NOT get into the database'.
